In order to receive new beta versions of
Darwinia, beta testers will need to visit this website and
download them. Only those people who have been chosen as phase
1 beta testers will have permission to download the betas
that we release. We will inform all beta testers by email
when new beta versions are ready for testing. It will be your
responsibility to download and test them in your own time.
In order to download the latest beta, you
will need to submit a system information file, which will
be generated by a tool we have provided. You will need to
download that tool, and run it on the system you intend to
test Darwinia on. Once you have generated a system information
file for your chosen computer, you can proceed to the Beta
Download page and follow the instructions to receive the latest
beta.
All beta versions that you download will
be personalised in two ways. Firstly, your forum username
and email will show up on screen during gameplay. Secondly,
the build will only run on the system you submitted the system
information for. Most users who are testing on a single computer
will only need to submit their system information once - the
first time - and our system will store that data and remember
it for future downloads. We will permit you to download a
build up to 3 times with different system information, for
testers who wish to run Darwinia on more than one computer.
We will permit you to post screenshots and
information about the game in the public areas of the forums,
however the beta versions themselves are strictly confidential.
